What Inconel 600 is and when it is used

Inconel 600, also identified as Alloy 600, UNS N06600 or W.Nr. 2.4816, is a nickel-based alloy with chromium and iron, used in parts that require thermal resistance, stability and reliable performance in corrosive environments.

In CNC machining, this type of alloy requires experience, correct tool selection, control of cutting parameters and dimensional verification to ensure a stable result.

Inconel 600 stands out for its combination of oxidation resistance, good corrosion resistance and stability in applications where parts are exposed to temperature, chemical agents or demanding industrial conditions.

Thermal resistance Good performance against oxidation at elevated temperatures.
Nickel base Provides resistance against various corrosive media.
Chromium Contributes to oxidation resistance.
Industrial use Chemical, thermal, energy and technical applications.

Machining nickel alloys requires careful process control. Tooling, cooling, cutting speed and setup rigidity directly affect the finish, precision and tool life.

For made-to-drawing parts, it is important to define tolerances, critical geometries, quantity, surface treatment and required documentation from the start.

01 Drawing review

Analysis of geometry, tolerances, threads, radii and critical areas.

02 Material selection

Confirmation of alloy, certificate, heat number and traceability.

03 CNC machining

Manufacturing with parameters adapted to the alloy and the part.

04 Dimensional control

Verification of dimensions, threads, finishes and customer requirements.

Inconel 600 can be used in components exposed to heat, corrosion or industrial environments where other materials may lose performance.
