Hexagon Head Bolt ISO 4014 / DIN 931
Hexagon head bolt with partial thread for industrial applications, structural joints, machinery and assemblies subjected to real mechanical loads.
What is the ISO 4014 / DIN 931 bolt?
The ISO 4014 hexagon head bolt, also known as DIN 931, is a hexagon head bolt with partial thread. It is designed for mechanical joints where high structural strength and proper load distribution are required.
Unlike ISO 4017, this model includes a smooth shank section. This unthreaded area improves mechanical performance in assemblies subjected to shear loads, vibration and industrial stress.
Hexagon head
Allows firm installation using an open-end, combination or socket wrench.
Partial thread
Includes a smooth shank to improve mechanical support and shear resistance.
Industrial application
Used in machinery, steel structures, maintenance and machined assemblies.
Main technical characteristics
Common materials and grades
Carbon steel
- Grade 8.8 - general use
- Grade 10.9 - high strength
Stainless steel
- A2-70 - standard environments
- A4-70 - corrosive or marine environments
In critical applications, selecting the correct material is essential to guarantee durability, safety and mechanical performance.
Standard dimensions
| Diameter M | Pitch | Wrench size S | Head height K |

Differences between ISO 4014 and ISO 4017
Partial thread
- Higher shear resistance
- Better structural performance
- Suitable for machinery and structures
- Includes a smooth shank section
Full thread
- Used in general assemblies
- Smaller smooth support area
- More limited structural use
- Thread along the full useful length
